On the trail of cheap and dangerous products – NATCP and NCPHP investigate global online marketplaces
The National Authority for Trade and Consumer Protection (NATCP) and the National Centre for Public Health and Pharmacy (NCPHP) have launched a unique, nationwide coordinated campaign as part of a comprehensive consumer protection inspection of products arriving from third countries. The aim of the initiative is to examine products from popular online marketplaces and identify those that may pose a real risk to Hungarian families.

The NATCP is removing battery chargers that pose an electric shock risk from the market
The accredited laboratory of the National Authority for Trade and Consumer Protection (NATCP) is once again testing USB chargers, given last year's 87% rejection rate. The purpose of the inspections is to prevent unsafe products from reaching consumers, which is why the authority is withdrawing them from circulation. Samples will be taken from online stores, specialty stores, small shops operated by Far Eastern companies, and shopping centers.

Target consumer protection inspection launched to protect vulnerable consumers – focus on products promising misleading medicinal effects
The National Authority for Trade and Consumer Protection (NATCP) in cooperation with the government agencies under its professional supervision, has launched a comprehensive investigation to prevent unfair trade practices targeting vulnerable consumer groups. The inspections cover treatments disguised as healthcare services for the benefit of the elderly, in addition to the protection of children, as well as products targeting families caring for children with disabilities and special educational needs, which in many cases make false claims.

Safety net for Hungarian consumers – extensive cooperation among authorities for even more effective consumer protection
A comprehensive cooperation agreement has been concluded between the ministries and authorities that play a key role in the consumer protection system in order to further strengthen the protection of Hungarian citizens and promote fair trade practices. The joint administrative interface established at the beginning of the year enables even faster and more coordinated action to prevent unfair commercial practices against consumers, protecting not only buyers but also law-abiding businesses.
